Homeowners FAQ's
How much will I save by going solar?
When you install a solar energy system on your property, you save money on your electricity bills and protect yourself against rising electricity rates in the future. Every home uses power differently, so we design a custom system for every person designed to maximize your savings potential.
What is the Process for Going Solar?
The process of changing your homes power source to solar is very simple. You will first meet with one fo our energy consultants, who will explain the system, associated costs, rebates, and financing options. Once you approve the design of your new solar layout, we go to work. Our install team will reach out to you to inspect your roof, install the system, connect it to the grid, and start your solar savings!
Will I still have a power bill?
Unless your solar energy system includes battery storage and you are fully off the grid, you will still receive a bill from your utility. However, you can dramatically reduce your bill with a solar panel system that correctly matches your energy use.
Can I add additional panels later?
Yes, as long as there is enough space on your roof. Please contact us and we can assist you with expanding your system.
Do solar panels require maintenance?
Solar panels generally require very little maintenance. They are very durable and should last around 25-30 years with no maintenance. The only maintenance you should need to perform is to wash them clean of dirt and dust two to four times a year, which you can easily do with a garden hose.
What happens if there is a blackout?
If your solar panel system is connected to the grid, it will shut off in the event of a blackout. This is to prevent emergency responders and electricity utility repair-people from being injured by your panels sending power back to the grid. However, adding a battery will allow backup power in a blackout.
